Host a Mosaic Workshop!

Traveling Mosaic Workshops start at $795 for up to 15 participants. Additional participants can be added  starting at $33 per person based on the design(s) chosen.  None of This is Cake can accommodate supplies for up to 36 people per class session. 

Mosaic classes require 3 hours from start to finish. In addition to the three hours of class time, class set up takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the breakdown takes approximately 1 hour. Please keep these time frames in mind when booking your party. 

General Class Outline: 

First 10 minutes Introduction & project walk through

2 hours 20 minutes Students pick/place glass & set resin

25 minutes Grout & Clean pieces

Last 5 minutes Photo op!

Classes are best run in a well lit room. Each person in class will need a place at a table to sit and work. 

In addition to this, space for (x2) 4 foot tables and (x2) 6 foot tables is required. 

Access to running water is also required, but does not need to be in the same room as the class. 

A place to dump grout water outside is required and may not be dumped down a drain.

A trash can with a trash bag (plus somewhere to throw away trash after class). 

*In Traveling Mosaic Classes, we use UV Resin to set the glass. This means that all windows that allow sunlight into the space must be covered so the resin does not set too early*

An hour before a class is to start, Kristi will arrive with all materials necessary for class.  Note that all tables will be covered in a layer of paper to protect all surfaces and make clean up a breeze. The floor around the grouting area will also be covered in paper. Light sweeping/mopping may be required after class so is not recommended that class be held in areas with carpets. Please note that a broom and mop will not provided by None of This is Cake and must be provided by the host/venue. 

All student work tables will have communal glue bottles and brushes. 

Each students personal work space will include:

A plastic lunch tray to hold all materials and glass

Tweezers

Apron

Safety Glasses

Printed Instructions

Acrylic Blank (Cut to order by Ready Aim Design Co.) or Picture Frame

Communal Table Supplies:

Mosaic Nippers

UV Lights 

White grout (Black grout available upon request; subject to additional charge)

Sponge and Scraper for grouting

Paper Towels

Micro-blade cotton swabs

Chain or ribbon for hanging

None of This is Cake currently offers two mosaic options: 5x7 picture frames or custom acrylic blanks. 

Picture Frames are available in either a black or white frame finish. 

Acrylic blanks are designed by Kristi and made to order by  Ready Aim Design Co.  Prior to the event, parties may choose up to 5 designs from the design templates below, or request custom designs to fit any theme for an extra charge. Blanks are clear with black outlines to mimic a stained glass effect. They also come with a brown protective film over the top and bottom that is removed after grouting. The default grout color will be white unless another color is requested (subject to additional charge).

No, absolutely no experience is necessary! These classes are meant to be beginner friendly. Kristi cuts all the glass into small pieces before class so that there is minimal cutting. Communal Mosaic Nippers will also be provided but are not generally necessary to complete projects. 

Due to the nature of mosaic classes, please wear clothes that you will not mind if they get dirty. 

Please make sure to wear closed toed shoes and pants for safety reasons- even if it's a gorgeous day and everything in you is screaming to wear shorts and flip flops! 

Students will be provided with an apron and safety glasses to wear during class.

Disposable gloves will be provided during the grouting stage.

At this time, Traveling Mosaic Classes are only available to ages 16 and up. Additional adult supervision is required for ALL students under 18, no exceptions.

Additional guests and children are not permitted in the classroom area due to space and time concerns.
