How to Order a Custom Pressed Ephemera Piece

In June of 2024 we lost one of our dogs much sooner than we ever expected to. It was so hard for me, and I felt like I needed a little piece of him close to me. The bracelet to the left is what I created in remberance of Abe. While I have been creating Pressed Ephemera pieces for the past few years, this was one of the first pieces of jewelry that I made that had actual significance to me.

Choose Your Style

The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating a custom piece. Don't like wearing necklaces or bracelets? How about earrings? Ok, no jewelry at all? No problem! The piece to the right is a piece I created with our cornsnake, Howards' shed. It is the shape of a heart and features multiple pieces of his shed with different textures.

Jewelry pieces can be made in many shapes- round, oval, heart, and more. Make your piece extra special with a clear dichroic glass backing! (This looks great with clear ephemera such as insect wings or snake shed). If you have a reference photo of what you would like, please attach it in the contact form at the bottom of this page.

What do I need from you?

Once you have decided to commission your piece, please use the contact form below! I will reach out within 48 hours (on business days) with my address so you can send me your ephemera. Suggested materials include but are not limited to: fur, fabric, whiskers, reptile shed, hair, pressed flowers leaves, insect wings, paper, ash, sand, soil. Regretfully, I can not use liquid materials or materials thicker than 3/8". Any unused ephemera will be returned to you along with your final piece.

If you do not have any pressed ephemera but would like to commission a piece with materials I have on hand, no problem! The photo to the left and the photo below are the same pieces. These are made with tomatillo husks and UV reactive pigment. They are some of the materials I keep on hand for custom orders. I also have snake shed, assorted pressed flowers and greenery, gold leaf, insect wings, and more!

Extra Information

All pressed ephemera jewelry pieces will be made with Lead-Free Solder and the findings of your choosing. Larger suncatcher pieces can be made with Lead-free solder upon request.

Jewelry pricing starts at $75 and will vary depending on your customizations. Full payment is required before your piece will be started. Please allow 4-6 weeks to create your piece.

Pressed Ephemera pieces require a bit of care. They should never be submerged, and as such should always be removed while bathing/showering. It is also best not to wear pieces when doing high impact sports to ensure they are not lost or damaged. If your piece contains pressed flowers or leaves, take care not to leave them exposed to excessive sunlight or UV rays as their colors will naturally fade.
